New member from Nebraska
« on: September 20, 2018, 02:20:01 PM »
I'm from eastern Nebraska, about 60 miles north west of Omaha.  My wifes parents bought this bridgestone new in 1970.  It finally quit running in the mid 80's,and got parked in a barn for years.  When her dad died her mom had to sell the farm, and the bike came to us.  It got parked behind my shop, and with kids, work, and running our own small farm it got forgot about.   Kids are now grown I have some free time and a little extra money, so I pulled the bike out of the weeds.  I'm going to start a complete disassembly and frame up restoration.  I've never tried a restoration project before, but I'm exited to start.

Be sure to download (free) the Service and Parts Manual from this site before you start tearing the bike apart. You may also want to take photographs during the disassemble to make it easier for you putting it back together. To many times people with good intentions start tearing these bikes apart and then give up.

Good luck and enjoy the journey. Don't forget to ask this group any questions you have during your restoration. We are all here to help.
