I know that seat covers are always a big topic of converstaion for a good percentage of us 350 owners and recently, I've been considering the options that are available and finding it tricky to come to a decision on which to buy and wondered what experiences others on here have had...
For me, the first consideration has to be how faithful a reproduction cover is, in comparison to an original seat. I don't mean just the seat shape, but also the texture and finish of the vinyl, the suede texture and seams, etc, etc.
Those that I've seen pictures of are as follows:
1. Pit Replica
Good points - price + readily available through Ebay
Not so good - Bridgestone logo is in white. My tatty original seat has a silver logo
2. Cool Retro Bikes
Good points - Vinyl looks very good
Not so good - expensive, stitching is used on the suede cover instead of heat seams, some buyers on ebay have had some bad experiences with the seller.
3. Covers by Kotaro (on this board)
Good points - overall quality looks good, plus dealing with a fellow board member.
Not so good - vinyl looks a little matt to me (correct me if I'm wrong), return postage cost of seat for restoration to Japan is expensive
Any comments re the above would be welcome, or any other covers that you guys have had good experiences with would be great to know.
Regards,
Steve
