Hi Randy,

Can you take the engine & frame numbers and send them on. I will add them to the SR-175 list we have going.

Also the SR-100 if you did not supply when the list was started.

Thanks .. ray

Hi Randy,

That SR-175 engine number you supplied I think is on the clutch cover - correct ?

The engine casing numbers are at the rear drive sprocket, right of it and stamped vertically. There should be 3 or 4 numbers. Example - 0186

Thanks .. ray

Ray,

Ray,

You are correct. I got the number from the bottom right, horizontally off the motors.

I will check tomorrow for the vertical number on the rear of the
bike.

Thanks

Randy

Ray,

On my SR 175 you have an extra 1 in the  motor number TA1 26201,
not TA1 126201.

Thank you for doing this.

Hey guys I'm looking for your help.

The 175 SR fuel tank I have has two creases in it.
Both creases are up by the triple tree end of the tank.

I tried the local Paintless Dent Repair service and he
told me the metal is to thick and the location is where
he can't get a tool in to press it out.

Anyone have a solution or suggestion?

I've tried locating another SR 175 tank and have
found they are few and far between. They are
not the same as a BS 60 Sport. The SR tank has
two fuel shutoff connections, not one.

I am willing to send it out to be repaired if anyone
knows a good company that removes creases.

Thanks for your suggestions and guidance.

Randy

Randy,
You might be able to just add another fuel port to a SR-100 style tank. A lot easier than taking bad creases out. Just a thought.

would you mind providing a few more pictures of the carb covers, I have 3 175 DT's and one will (one day) be a custom. I don't have enough good parts for three, so have been thinking about some sort of air ram carb cover...

it also looks like your pile of parts are a lot worse off than what I started with, good luck and bridgestone on!

In the "Pennsylvania 350 GTR" thread, Davis explains splitting a GTR tank by grinding the weld off the seams, then rewelding after repair. That should make it easy to get to the creases.

The SR175 tank is a Sport 60 tank with an added petcock.  That shouldn't be too difficult to do. Tank bungs to weld on are available in just about any size, then just find a spare 60/90 petcock.  However, I've been watching on ebay for a while, and even 60 sport tanks are few and far between.

Mornin Hardy,

Attached pictures of the SR-175 carb covers. Hope they are of help ?

These were sand cast as the production volume was around 750 bikes in total.

Hi ray,

Thanks for the pics, I was thinking of building the cases up to be something similar, but wasn't sure if I would make it air ram in reverse like these.
