Still Looking For Chibi Seat (non-deluxe)
« on: July 12, 2015, 02:38:09 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm still in the hunt for a non-deluxe chibi seat. Please check your contacts, barns, and garages  ;D

I need this seat to complete my resto..

Let me know if anyone has a contact for anyone that might have a stash of parts (excluding Rick) I hear he does have one to sell.

Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,
I have a Chibi seat I'd sell or trade you. The seat has the original seat cover which has some small tears in it. ( a new seat cover is recommended*) The seat foam inside is still "springy" & the metal seat pan (with brackets) is in good condition. I do not know what the difference is between a deluxe Chibi seat & Non-deluxe seat, so I can't say which seat I have... I also have a fairly complete Chibi "rolling" frame with wheels, fenders, and tank ( No engine).
I also would be willing to trade my Chibi seat for Chibi engine/engine parts/ levers/cables/chain.
Let me know.. I can take some pics if you want to see what the seat looks like.

* I am working on getting an eBay seller to soon begin selling good-quality-good fitting seat covers that fit Chibi, BS50 Homer, BS7 Surfrider, Tora, & Taka, since no one currently sells those that I am aware of.   I'll keep you posted on how that goes...

Anyway you can send me a picture of the seat ?

The non-deluxe seat uses a hook type mounting connection that bolts to the frame just aft of the tank, and has an open tube welded approx: two-thirds of the way towards the rear of the seat to slide a bolt through. (Hard mount that cannot be opened for storage)

The deluxe model simply uses a rear mounted hinge that uses a pin to hold the seat together along with a spring locking device that's used to open/close the seat.

Thanks
Kevin.

OK Kevin, I'll try to take pictures of it tomorrow a.m. & send you... based on the latest description you gave, the spare seat I have is a Deluxe model.
