Gtr 350 Engine rebuild?
« on: April 08, 2012, 01:29:44 PM »
Hey guys i have found alot of useful info on this site. I have had a gtr350 for a few years it was barn kept with 7000 original miles on it. Every time I start to get things moving on it it ends up on the back burner, but anyways ive decided im tierd of looking at it sit. I was wondering if anyone on here would be willing to offer a rebuild serivce for me, seeing how i have never rebuilt any type of engine i dont think a 67 classic would be a good start. The engine is 98% there it is missing a few parts like a clutch plate and that little tinny push rod that managed to vanish on me. i have the list of parts it needs that i know of. if anyone is willing to point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. My idea is that it would make a great cafe racer im going to try and fab everything up with no welding or perm. alterations to the bike so it could be fully restored at some point, any thoughts or ideas would be great.

asweallburn,
Sounds a bit like my plans for the rebuild. Not planning on fiberglass other than the seat.
You might see what Reed's schedule allows for the engine rebuild.

Yea I dont have all the money rite now to do everything rite away like i would like. Ive never had anything rebuilt before so i have no idea what the cost would be or the shipping. I will be saving some cash up before i call reed, so instead ive been working on getting everything touched up/repainted im going with a deap metalflake blue and the rest of the bike will be black. Im planning on doing a post on the restoration section with pics.

But anyways if anyone has had their engine rebuilt im just looking for an average on what people have paid....
