Nice lighted Bridgestone sign on on-line VA. auction. No shipping though, has to be picked up in person..... bummer!  :(

Yeah too bad on the shipping. That would look great in my garage. Hopefully someone "local" will pick it up.

Someone got it for $39.

I guarantee you had they offered shipping, that would have been a higher amount!

They stole it, let's see if it pops up on Ebay at a vastly inflated price

I know that sign is close to the correct time period as the bikes but was it used actually by dealerships to sell motorcycles?

Nope, it was a "Tire" sign, but it's possible one would have seen it in a shop that sold both the bikes & tires.

Below is the sign I'd like to get my hands on....

Wow now that is a sign!  popcorn I never had seen a lighted motorcycle specific bridgestone sign before. I guess I thought the dealerships only used steel signs. I happened to pick up a modern Bridgestone sign the other day, simply to hang over my bike in our barn even though it's not period correct ::)

Here's a vintage "homemade" lighted sign on eBay that some dealer fashioned back in the day.... (at least I think it's homemade.  :o )

This isn't the same sign Brian, but the price is definitely inflated!

back in the day, i used to uncrate, set up and service more of those "little Honda's" at our local dealership than i care to remember.  i get it in terms of portable transportation, but since they were not what i rubbed my gums on when i started riding as a young lad, they don't do it for me.  i'd pay more for the GTR than the little Honda.  now on the other hand, i am a sucker for any 1965 Yamaha YG1-K Rotary Jet 80!  i have an unmolested rusty rider that i always gives me a thrill when i run an errand and then i have this cute little over-restored guy done in Honda Candy Tone Ruby Red.  I did another in 2005 finished in Candy Tone Blue-Green and foolishly sold it to a fellow in Michigan who showed it in 2007 at the VJMC annual national meet.  Shouldn't have sold it, dammit, so i had to restore another because i thought i wanted a red one like mine when i was a kid' then i got seller's remorse and wish i had a blue-green one!

It'll be interesting to see what that sells for...can't believe it will be anything like the upper end of the estimate, you could by a nice GTR/GTO for that!

ld want a bike with it for that money,l sometimes think the worlds gone mad how can it possibly be worth that .
If it does sell it'll be then used as a benchmark and you'll never get one for a sensible price.
That's modern technology for you without the internet its value would be a lot less but the the worlds changing and people me included buy world wide at a push of a button and if you want something and are prepared to pay its dead simple.
I really liked the simplicity of the 50s and 60s but there you go.
l wouldn't have bikes l now have if it wasn't for the amazing way to view and buy from your front room, l wonder what it'll be like in another twenty years.

Hales Corners was my old stomping ground! If I was still living there, I would have snapped up the GTR!
