Took my 200 carbs off today!
« on: April 19, 2011, 06:52:30 PM »
Pulled the carbs off today.  Boy, those choke plungers did not want to come out!  A little penetrating fluid and some gentle nudging with a very small screwdriver did the trick.  Even the bowl was difficult to separate.

I will be boxing them up to send out to Reed for some much needed cleaning and inspection.  There is definitely a feeling of satisfaction gained from bringing these old bikes back to life.

I took mine off the Sport 90 as well. We must be on the same pace!  They are off to Reed as I type. I had to take a gander at it so I pulled the float bowl...egad, not a pretty sight. I cant believe it actually started up (but then died immediately afterwards). The choke plunger was not too bad on mine, just dirty, Reed should be able to clean this up nicely...can't wait now to get it running I am getting close! Now to make a part list up for Richard

I have more projects around here than I know what to do with!  My pace is slow.  Any day I can get something done on the Bridgestone is a good day.

I will have to come take a look at yours at some point.  Hope everyone has a great Easter!

Sent my carbs out to Steve Reed.  They now look like brand new!  Hope to get pictures on the site this weekend and you can judge for yourself.

Not trying to embarrass him, but we are lucky to have him on this site.  Knows his stuff and is helpful for those of you who don't know him.

Also, his prices are more than fair.  Thanks again.
