« on: April 02, 2011, 12:15:08 PM »
OK, does anyone know what battery I need to get for the sport 90, and where do the battery wires connect to on the bike?

Not sure why no one seems to be forthcomming with battery info!

Yuasa may be able to help with the battery size designation, they will want exact model and year info, try them at:
http://www.yuasabatteries.com/contactus.php

I don't currently have a 90, but did years ago.  As I remember, battery goes under the right side cover, held in place by a rubber strap.  I think the correct battery comes with a red and black lead which plug into matching wires in the frame harness.  Many bikes get modified over the years so it's hard to be sure what you are looking at.  If you can post a pic of what you've got, perhaps someone more knowlegable can point out what's what on your bike.

I'm sure someone here can come up with the info you need!

Thank you. I looked that battery up and for some strange reason the negative wire from the battery has a circle like you mount it on a negative ground post? I did see such a post with a nut from the frame near the battery like it bolted on there? To make matters more confusing I did find a loose red and black wire in the wiring nest in the frame. Do you cut the circle post connection and solder a pin on and connect the negative to the black wire? I did pull the plug today and got a spark even without any battery!!! I bought some EVAPO RUST and am going to remove and clean the gas tank first.

Check your wiring diagram in your service manual and the red from the battery goes in a fuse holder and then into the rectifier.
The black goes into your key switch and you will have to cut and change connection,if you look at the wiring diagram the information
Is all there.
Thanks.
Steve.
