Title: Best way to check the oil, BS-90
Post by: indianaderrick on April 11, 2011, 09:01:55 PM
Ok, I found where to put the oil in, but how do we check the level?
I do not see a sight glass.

There is a 6mm level bolt on the right side of the clutch casing.
If there is no oil in the in the engine you undo the bolt.
And take it out, pour the oil in,until see oil coming out then put
The level bolt back in etc.
Thanks.
Steve.

To keep from dripping oil down the side of the transmission, lean the bike to the left side while you remove the level check bolt.  Put a paper towel over the hole and then slowly tilt the bike back up straight, holding the towel over the hole.  Carefully pull back the towel while watching for for oil.  If you see oil, the level is ok. Tilt the bike back to the side and reinstall the check bolt.  If it's low, add a couple of ounces and check again.

Thanks for the info.   It looks like I am missing the bolt!

the bolt should be right in front of the brake pedal.
