BS90 - BS50 left hand casing - are they the same??

As title - apart from the chrome cover only having 2 fixing screws rather than 3, is the BS50 left hand engine casing the same as the 90?

Parts are difficult to source here in the UK and a decent BS50 cover has come up on ebay and I need one for my 90!

Hey Bryan,
No, they're not the same.  The BS50/60 Sport cases are smaller about a third.  Is your bike oil injected/jet lube?  If so, the BS100 side covers are the same.  You need to be aware of the lug on the front.  Most non oil injected models don't have it.  I'm working on four BS90's and have become very familiar with them.  More than happy to help where I can.  Good luck, Steve

Cheers Steve - my 90 is o.i., its a 1968 90T - mostly all there but missing the left cover, r.h. handlebar furniture and side panels.
Will keep looking for parts as I begin to strip the bike!!

The first listing has the magneto cover and the inside chain plate.  There are several more listed on eBay.  Keep the front lug in mind.  Good luck, Steve
Here's a listing for a air filter cover.  It's red but will work with paint.  Has a hard to find stock air filter too!
