And another parts bike
« on: September 25, 2015, 02:27:44 PM »
Picking up this ugly booger from a guy in mid-Missouri. I should have plenty of spares if anyone needs something.

I wouldn't be so quick to part this one out if that is your intention. Seems that style is somewhat of a rare breed. You can check out more info here......

Sweet find Rick!  I keep finding out about different 90 models.  I think that makes ten different models; standard, trail, mountain, sport, sport humpback and special racer(SR) (all premix), deluxe oil injected, trail OI, mountain OI, and sport OI.  I would like to get one of each, keep dreaming.  Good luck, keep that one together!  Steve  (I forgot the Surfrider? Make it 11 models?)

Let me know if I missed any?

Glad you jumped on that quickly Moonpup - That's definitely NOT a parts bike!

Very cool to see over the past week one member got a 90 with a serial number in the 180's and another picked up a "rare" humpback 90.

Obviously they are out there - just need to be uncovered.

Another interesting bit to the "humpback" 90 is that before the sunburst 90 decal, there was a chrome "flying witch" emblem in that spot. The flying witch emblem was replaced with the decal after Bridgestone got some flak about the witch.

Here's a pick of Broomhilda......  ;D

Bridgestone did such a nice job with the styling on these bikes. Nice pic Moonpup. In front of Kotaro-san's shop I believe.
Keep it Rick.

I do not know if there is a replacement sunburst sticker? But if it was mine i would have it protected and not 'peeled off' or painted over. Just wanted to say something that might be regretable after the fact...... bsforever

Good tip, thanx. I'm going to have a graphic artist try to duplicate this. I'll post if and when it's done.

Rick, here's a good photo of the decal I found in the gallery.  The link is here too.  A nice one of the bike as well.  It's a members bike.  Good luck, Steve

Thanks, Steve. What a beautiful bike! I have a feeling I'm going to prove to be more talented at finding these than restoring them, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

Spotted an ad in the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group site with a Bridgestone 80? offered for sale.Sounds like a parts bike but who knows. The guy's name is Dick Cowling in Cobourg,Ontario.Listed number is 905 373 4774.Maybe attractive to someone in that part of Canada or U.S. who lives close by once the exact model is determined.
