Where does this 175 part go?
« on: August 14, 2018, 06:31:11 PM »
Can anyone tell me where this piece goes?  It fell out when I took the clutch cover off. I have looked through the parts book and service manual and I don’t know where it came from. Thanks

it goes in the outer  cover in the clutch actuating mechanism

Thanks for the reply. I just looked at my clutch cover and that piece is still where it belongs. This metal dowel is quite a bit bigger than that one. Do you have any other ideas?

I am not familiar with the 175's so any answer i guess at is just that.... a guess. Any possibilty it is a dowel pin that holds the cover onto the engine?  Might be too big for that , but just a shot-in-the-dark guess.

Look in the lower right corner of the case in the image below. Could it be that pin? I think it’s the fork guide pin PN: 2113-8000. I haven’t seen any pin in the engine that big, other than that.

If thats the pin, for the life of me I can’t think of how it would migrate to the clutch side.

I believe you are right, Al. Thanks for the picture. My guess is it fell out into the bottom of the crank case and rolled through the hole at the bottom of the case between the gearbox and clutch area. I was hoping I wouldn't have to split the cases on this engine but maybe this is why the bike was parked in the first place. Thanks again
