New owner of a motorcycle older than me!

[1966 90cc Sport]

Hey there!  I'd like to introduce myself as an official BS owner!

Last Autumn I acquired a 1966 Bridgestone 90 Sport (like my username DUH!) from the original owner for FREE ).  I took pictures first... of course.  Check out that seat cover!  The original owner shared all his stories about the bike with me.   It has had a hard life up north and is currently not running.

I have replaced all the fluids, fuel lines, oil injection line, and spark plug (not sure of gap) to see if it would crank.  NO!  It has great compression and an easy kick start.  No battery, but it should start without one.  I know nothing about ignition coils, magnetos, or flywheels!  So, hopefully after I pull the flywheel off I can test these things?!

I have worked on a lot of YSR 50 bikes, so maybe I can figure it out!  I will definitely need a whole lotta help as I have already downloaded the parts manual, service manual, and have an original of the owner's manual.

Anyone know how to remove a broken banjo bolt?  It sorta twisted off in the oil pump when I was replacing the line...

Haha... gotta love the home made seat covers that people came up with back then. At least from a distance yours looks kinda like it's a camo material unlike this one we discussed in this other thread.

Welcome to the club.  I have two '66 BS90 sports.  Looks like everything is there, a little sun faded.  You'll find it easy to work on.  Plenty of good people on this site willing to help.  You can find all the manuals (with specs.) and parts list in the Manuals section of the site.  Looks like a larger than stock chain ring(rear sprocket) on it.  Good luck, have fun!  mqtsteve

The remains of banjo bolts typically come out easily with about any version of an EZ-Out as they aren't normally rusted in. They usually have been cracked during installation/handling/storage.  My 350 was in storage for 20 years in my barn, when I got it out and started cleaning it up, all three banjo bolts broke off with just light torque with a wrench.

Not sure about the 90, but some Bridgestone's won't run without a battery.
