Silver Medallion of Bridgestone Corp. founder.... Shojiro Ishibashi

Here's a quote from wikipedia about him that I particularly liked.

"Ishibashi's motto for Bridgestone was to "serve society with products of superior quality"."

Found this postcard on eBay of the Shriner Tebala Motorcycle Corps of Rockford Il. Can anybody identify the bikes they're riding? I would hope they would be Bridgestones!  ;D  (the auction doesn't say)

These Shriner bikes appear to have leading link front forks. If they are Stones, they would be in the BS7  family. I would look at a oncoming photo of a BS7.

Anybody ever seen one of these front fender ornaments? Must have fit one of the 50 or 60cc bikes. It's about 4 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches long. Not sure if this was a dealer accessory or an aftermarket piece.  ;D

Hi,

The question is ...... is this BS41 attached to a Bridgestone bicycle, or has iot had a "frame change" in its lifetime?

Not sure if it's worth $300 smackers, but it would be neat to find one of these vintage BS pocket knife's....  8)

This sign was sitting on top of the Pearson Tire dealership in Utah 4 years ago when we drove through. Pretty sure it was there from 50 years ago. I don't think they even sold Bridgestone tires anymore.

The Pearson Tire store in the photo is in Richfield, Utah. You can see it in Google street view.

Thanks Karl.... After you posted the pic of the sign, I thought I'd try and google view it to see if it was still there but you didn't specifically named a town the first time so I wasn't successful. Glad to hear it's still there, although I'm a bit surprised what with all the interest in vintage signs these days.

I didn't remember the town at first, but from our photos, knew it was between Salt Lake City and Vegas, so did some searching on Google.

Found this and thought I'd see if anyone has ever heard of this album before.

Quote from the eBay listing....

"really obscure 1969 country western fiddle release on BANFF records, recorded in CANADA.  This LP takes Paul Menard's music and mixes it with the sound of motorcycles revving, like the Firebird Scrambler and a Bridgestone 350 GTR."

Just when you think you've seen it all  ;D...........................

You got that right!

Let's see, on this album, what say we combine a little western fiddle with some GTR motorcycle revving...  :o
