Title: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: moonpup on July 07, 2012, 01:55:08 PM
Found this site that is offering a few modern baseball caps with vintage Bridgestone patches stitched on. The price seems quite reasonable since I've seen the same patches sell for that much alone.

Coxy, I might have to pick one of those up for myself.

In the meantime though, I think I'd rather have a hat with one of these patches instead......

This person has 3 left on his/her eBay auction......

Thought I'd change the title of this thread to include "other stuff" so there'd be a place to post all the interesting things you might find relating to the BS marque.

Just found these neat vintage keychains on a Japanese site. They sold for approx. $11 US

Paul..... the ad was from this ebay listing. Maybe you could contact the seller and see if he/she remembers the magazine they got it out of.

I just picked up a 350 GTO over the weekend, (pics to come)  I discovered that there was a Bridgestone dealer in Lakefield Ontario, which is a relatively rural area 100 miles away from Toronto.  I am hoping to glean more information soon.

Here's another "hadn't seen this before" item. It's a Rockford Motors brass belt buckle. It's a shame it has such bad corrosion on the backside.

Has anyboby ever seen a Bridgestone buckle?

Could it be an initial buckle with NO Rockford Motors connection?

It very well could be Paul, I was just trusting the seller and his story of coming from a defunct dealership.

It really doesn't match the font usually seen on "Rockford" stuff.......  ???
Title: Re: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: moonpup on August 13, 2013, 04:48:00 PM
Paul, decided to search eBay a little more using the brand name of the buckle "Hickok" and found lots of those initial buckles.  So I don't think they were in any way associated with either Bridgestone or Rockford Motors.

Maybe that dealer saw an opportunity to make a little extra by buying a bunch of "R" initialed buckles and passing them off as Rockford items. Or perhaps you got one as a promo with your motorcycle purchase..... who knows?

Guys let me clear up the mystery. I was just up in Phoenix picking up a GTR parts bike I bought from this ebay seller. The bike came out of the dealership in Oil City, PA he bought all the bikes and parts out of. He has several totes of Bridgestone and Rockford parts  many NOS, and I went through every one of them and bouht several. I found this buckle in one of the totes and suggested it might be a Rockford buckle. They rest is history. So sorry for the misdirection, I will inform the seller that this does not seem to be a Rockford buckle...

I'd love to hear the song but I couldn't find an audio link that'd let me play it. I did find this site that one could download it (for a price maybe?) but I'm not sure if I have the means to play or post it afterwards.

Anybody want to tackle this?

Paul, I thought I'd read somewhere on the site that the "Jet Lube" term (and decals) were used for the oil injection system in markets outside of the U.S. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge on the subject can either confirm this or set the record straight.

Either way, I just wish there had been more items like this done for the GTO.  :(

I can confirm that as I still have the original sticker on my 90 Deluxe. It is a silver foil type and attached to the oil tank.

Hi, Moonpup,

Yes, the UK market 90s and 350s didn't use the silver "Oil Injection" stickers, but had a "Jet Lube" sticker on the oil tank instead. Strangely, UK market 175s had the US-type "Oil Injection" sticker on the oil tank.

If anyone is looking for a "Jet Lube" sticker, "Sunrise Graphics" over here in the UK have replicas - the original stickers have long been unavailable.

FYI, the poster didn't generate any bids..... wonder if they'll relist it with a lower starting point or maybe even a "buy it now" ? (still wishing it wasn't missing a piece of the lower corner though.)

If you want a Bridgestone t shirt, one alternative is to make your own.

It's really quite surprising what you can do with an inkjet printer and an iron-on transfer sheet.  Anything you have on your PC that you can print, you can put on a shirt.

The actual picture on the shirt is pretty good, the photo not so much, but you get the idea.

Fellow member Kataro has posted these vintage Bridgestone factory overalls for auction on eBay. They don't have the typical Bridgestone motorcycle logo ( scary monster  ;D ), instead incorporating the BS tire company logo. Yet if they were the same type used in the motorcycle plant, they would indeed make for a nice addition to someones memorabilia collection.

Wonder what it says on the back?  8)

Hi, Moonpup,

That question's easily answered. Katakana characters translate as  BU-RI-JI-SU-TO-N. Say it quickly and it comes out as BRIDGESTONE. You can see those same characters on factory parts packaging.

Here's something a little unique.

An original 8x10, that according to the seller is.....

"Showing two 1970 Indy 500 Race Car Drivers in front of the News Bureau Building on a dirt bike.  If I figured this out it is a Bridgestone 100 G/P Dirt Bike.  The bike itself it rare.  That is Gary Bettenhausen standing there.  Not quite sure of the driver sitting.  Maybe Roger McCluskey or ?"

I guess the seller isn't familiar with Bridgestones as the 100 GP is a street bike only.  The dirt/trail/scrambler version was the TMX.  I bought a new 100 GP back in the day, when I was 15 years old.

Neat picture though.  Hopefully someone can identify the other gentlemen.

I've seen this type of print before but never with a 350. Too bad they didn't get one with the proper seat logo & oil tank badging.

Most definitely a copy and probably by someone tripp'n on LSD back in the day!   ;D  ;D  ;D

BTW: Green 350 GTO's were a possibility as that WAS a color option listed on the 1970 Bridgestone factory/dealer brochure. Would love to find one that could be verified.

I didn't ever see that particular photo before, but I (Ace Cycle at the time) gave that bike to Gary as part of an advertising promotion. The bike was presented to the winner of the Night before the 500 race at Indianapolis Raceway Park. He had it for several years and used it as a pit bike during May at the 500 a few times.  He lives a few miles from here, just outside Mooresville, In.

Correction: It was a USAC Sprint car race on May 17, 1970 at IRP, not the Night Before The 500 Midget race.

Besides the pig face, could it also be the huge neck goiter, the arthritic arm, the mushroom eyeball or you're a little offended by the breast protruding under the arm?  ;D  ;D  ;D

Richard has the best looking patches (and are probably the real deal) for a very reasonable price on eBay....

It's from a company that produces promotional bits 'n' pieces such as key rings, labels, pens etc with a manufactures logo on.

DP-356 seems to be their code for 'Bridgestone Motorcycles', not available today, I've checked.

Yes, they are listed on Yahoo Japan with a "buy it now" of $17 ea.

The big problem is that most sellers on this site will only sell to buyers with a Japanese address. One can get around that by signing up with businesses that act as 3rd party buyers but with the fees they charge and the double shipping charges (you pay for seller to warehouse and then warehouse to you), items can get expensive real fast. Maybe someone like Kotaro could contact the seller and put together a deal to supply these here or on eBay?

Do you have an account with them? You have to sign up on the site just like eBay. The signing up part is easy. The hard part is trying to buy anything and these are some of problems you'll face once you get to that part.

1. They don't accept PayPal.
2. You will have to open a bank account with one of the banking institutions that's actually in Japan. Not an easy thing to do.
3. And finally, you will still hit the big deadend in that most of the sellers will not ship internationally.

When I tried to buy something a year ago, I gave up and had a member of the Datsun 240Z forum who lives in Japan and came to my aid, act as my middleman.

So there's kinda only 2 options available...... either have someone you know that lives there and is willing to help you out or sign up with one of the companies that act as middlemen and pile on the fees.  It can be done, it's just a matter of how bad you want something.  ;D

Just checked out this sellers other auctions and it's obvious producing this type clock is a business for him.

I think if there's enough interest on the site and members were willing to put up a downpayment like was done with the clutch plates & con-rod projects, maybe Kataro if contacted and interested, could put together a deal with the seller and make these available.

Here's the sellers other auctions (7 pages worth!)...

"For sale is the Metal Sign advertising Bridgestone Motorcycles that you see in the photos.  This sign is about 8 inches by 5 inches.  I found it inside a mine in Idaho.  There was a newspaper page printed on a large piece of metal that was attached to a wood wall and this advertisement was to only part that I was able to recover."

There is a similarity to the design of the medal here. Looks like the bike model was called 'Champion' and they had a 'Champion' Rally?

Hi, Folks,

There's really no mystery about the Bridgestone Champion. Their initial motorcycle was a 50cc two speed moped called the Champion. It was upgraded to a motorcycle type frame as the Champion 2 and then the 3-speed motorcycle Champion 3. The last of these spawned the Bridgestone 7, as sold in the US. This all pre-dates the more familiar disc-valve engine bikes.

I would agree that the styling is a bit of an acquired taste! (and a taste that I haven't acquired)

Hi, everyone.

I bought a little gem of BS memorabilia on eBay recently. It's a 7-inch single record of "Bridgestone 90" by The Panthers. I've seen this offered on eBay a few times in the past, but never managed to catch it. The cover is a picture of  the five grinning band members, all seated on little Bridgestones - a 60 Sport,. two 90 Mountains, a 90 Deluxe and a 50 Sport. The song itself is a terrible piece of cheesy 1960s pop - a sort of imitation Beach Boys, but without Brian Wilson's song writing and production skills. Presumably, it was a sort of answer record to the better known "Little Honda" by the Hondells, which I believe had some Beach Boys/Brian Wilson connection.

My question is, what is the background to "!Bridgestone 90"? Was it part of an advertising campaign? The record itself is stamped "Made in Canada" on the label.

I'm sure someone out there has the answer.

On Scott Noga's website accessible through this site,at one time the song played but I'm not sure if thats still the case. The Panthers song was used as part of a radio commercial. The song most likely on cart (8 track style for radio station use)would be provided by Rockford Motors to dealers for promotional use.The band was from the Mid-West somewhere as I did some research on them but were always waay below the radar. The pressing of the 45 was merely produced in Canada for Canadian consumption.Still,a bit more Bridgestone trivia.

Title: Re: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: kleindorf on October 23, 2015, 08:24:17 PM
My last words on The Panthers involved researching them yesterday only to be sideswiped by some @#$%$# ad trying to scam me and locking up the computer. What I did uncover was the band originated in Upstate New York either Massena or Plattsburgh. The lead singer/leader? was a guy named Tommy Dishaw from Massena. The Canadian record company D&C was probably close geographically for them to record and release their music.I thought Tommy Dishaw could probably add some personal Bridgestone related insight into his writing. It appears that he passed away in 2014 which closes off that avenue. What is REALLY interesting is the flip or B side of the record,"Somebody Touched Me"  the writer who any music fan should immediately recognize is Ahmet Ertegun.Yep, Mr. Atlantic Records. So "Bridgestone 90" has a lot more than going on than at first glance.

There is also a Yahoo site for Bridgestone's.

Well, Kleindorf's last post gave me a start point, so I did some research of my own. A few clicks led me onto the Scrambler Cycles website, where they had a scan of a "Bridgestone by Rockford" dealer Newsletter for July 1965 that gave the definitive story. Apparently, the song was written by Bridgestone Dealer Jim Cunningham of Malone, N.Y. and recorded by Tommy Dishaw & the Panthers - both of these names are credited as writers on the A-Side label.

Jim started using the record in conjunction with his Radio advertising, but then the local disc jockeys  noticed it and started to give it some airplay. At this point, Rockford picked up and the Newsletter article suggested it could have real promotional possibilities, and suggested dealers contact Jim Cunningham about availability of the discs.

Jim 's dealership was County Farm Supply of Malone N.Y. I wonder if anyone out there remembers them?

I have read that the Japanese BS dealers were bicycle shops and not as advanced as the other Japanese brands dealers. The size , number of colors used, drawing of motorcycle , etc. on this banner does not fit with my impression of BS dealers. I wonder what year this was  used, 19??.

Badge that was riveted to a 60cc sport to designate that specific motorcycle as a "demonstrator". This demonstrator would be "loaned" out by the Rockford sales rep to dealerships in the reps territory.

That sounds about right Paul. I wonder if any "Demonstrator" bikes made it into the publics hands? I guess if they did, the emblem would've been removed first and replaced with the standard one.

Another possibility could be that these were maybe mounted on the stands for the cutaway engine displays?????

Bert, if you look closely at the back of the bolt head, there's a small triangle shaped piece that probably fits in a notched/slotted bracket to keep it from spinning when tightened. Maybe for the bicycle seat clamp???
Title: Re: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: BRT-GTR on January 20, 2016, 11:36:42 AM
Seem to remember bolts like these, with a lug forged on the back of the head, being used in a number of places on older bicycle frames to clamp up, tube in tube type fittings. As Moonpup says, the seat tube was one use and it had to be darn tight otherwise the seat would swivel or drop down, usually when you least expected it ;D. They could be a pain in the a*se (literally) when the lug stripped and you couldn't fully tighten the nut  ::). I was probably only 9 or 10 with very few spanners and a worn pair of pliers!!

Could also have been used to clamp up the handlebars to the riser stem, where the BS logo would have been nicely visible. I'm sure there were other bits attached with them.
Here's something similar for Raleigh bikes, lug is just visible in the photos. :-      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raleigh-R-Nut-Seat-Post-Binder-Bolt-/121865355660 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raleigh-R-Nut-Seat-Post-Binder-Bolt-/121865355660)
    Happy days, Brian.

90 premix based on shape of tank.
Title: Re: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: RayK on January 25, 2016, 04:28:37 PM
It's a 50 Sport, an earlier 65 or 66 model as is shown by the front forks - the later models had rebuildable forks. Also see the front mudguard (fender) stays.  Both 50 and 60 Sport were premix only.
That tank is common to 50, 60 Sports (premix) and 90 Trail, Deluxe, Mountain both oil injection and premix after circa 1967 - the earlier 90s were premix only with 'flat/squashed' sided tank and different pads. The SR 90 and 100 also had the same tank as the one shown on the sign.
The 90 Sport OI/premix and 100 sport and later TMX  had a different tank with different tank pads.

Advert from 1968 for GTR on eBay

I note that the bike in the Ad has no front numberplate and no blinkers, both compulsory in NSW in 1968. Last hurrah as McCulloch (the BS distributors in NSW) dropped Bridgestone in late 1968 to concentrate on Yamaha.

Hi, Moonpup,

Well, that one had me stumped - I was thinking some form of magneto from the first picture. Now I see the word "Tachometer"  I wonder if it was part of the optional race kit for the 50 Sport or 90? The little singles have no take-off for a mechanical tacho, so electrickery was the only way to go.

Another silly question, are you sure it is Bridgestone, not a rogue part that got mixed up with a box of BS?

Ha - Nice call Slawscomb!

I remember that Johnny Cash song. I haven't heard it for a while, but I fancy there was a neat twist in tail somewhere in the last verse- I just can't remember what it was.

In answer to Paul's question, I suspect it was probably for the EJR1 (the single cylinder predecessor to the ELR2/3 50 twins). The only pics I've seen of the EJR1 suggest it was an air-cooled motor, but maybe the factory experimented with water-cooling before they designed the 50 twins. P:erhaps Kotaro has more info?

The white gloves remind me of one of the field engineers that we had at the company I used to work for. We went out to install instrumentation, run tests, collect data, solve technical issues and otherwise climb all over large off-highway equipment. Most wore dark blue coveralls, but one guy always showed up in white coveralls.  When he walked in, they always knew he wasn't planning on doing any real work. He'd just tell the local mechanics what he wanted them to do and stood around while they did all the work.

I wonder if Richard Clark has any factory road racers or parts.

Jeff McBrayer

Not sure if RC has any of the racers or parts, but there's a fella on the Facebook Bridgestone site that has a EJR 50 and apparently is open to selling it.

His post on the site.....

" I have a 1966 EJR 50. A pure Bridgestone GP motorcycle, raced at the IOM by Team Bridgestone. All original, with complete documents. Asking and seeking??. Contact me."

UPDATE:  This posting has been deleted from the FB page, so it may no longer be available?

I heard of this particular person saying this for a few years now. Never seen anything to back up the claims. The year that Bridgestone was to race at the IOM was canceled due to a dock workers strike and the bikes couldn't be loaded on a ferry. They never raced at the IOM. This was posted several years ago on the Yahoo Bridgestone group.

Subject: [Bridgestone] 1967 EJR 50 aquired

Through many year's of neogation, I have purchased one of the origional ERJ 50cc racers from a private collector in Japan, whom I have delt with for many year's. The bike arrived last week to sunny south Florida in a crate, complete with another " works " GP 50cc engine and complete parts. 14 speed gear box is in both, casset type for quick change, the bike is 100% complete and in running condition. I went to a track day's session at Holmstead raceway and fired the little 50 up, hit right on!, after a few lap's, my skinny ass was clocked at 110mph, down hill with a tail wind...lol.

In my documation and momrabelia, this bike was ridden by Jack Finnely and Ito Suzuki. A rare find...and I am damn lucky to have it, a ton of history behind this bike to us Bridgestoner's. The restoration is underway, notibaly a new fairing and assorted bit's. Pic's and vid's soon to come.

Cheers...

John L. Sullivan

That would be nice to see it show up somewhere. One of only a handful of factory racers with spares and documentation. Seems like someone would know something about it. I'll put some feelers out there ;).

So for EIGHT years, one of the rarest motorcycles in the world resided in the USA. Did  anyone on this web site actually see it? Too bad  this machine wasn't  displayed at AMA vintage days with the other Stones a few years  ago.I recall reading that John Sullivan helped some Australian BS  owners restore their machines in the late 1980s. Same Sulivan?

Also sold at the Las Vegas Mecum Auction for $929,000 USD was a Vincent owned by Tony McAlpine and used in the Australian land speed record. So another lost from Australia to ? USA. (From the Aus VJMC site).  As well as a Tony McAlpine/Jack Ehret Vincent bought by someone in Tasmania from France. This might be a clue as to where the 50cc BS Racer ended up. Maybe the Museum of Modern Art in Hobart. The owner is a mega rich collector of modern art etc.

why would Bridgestone use a British amal carburettor ????

Ya got me Andrew, but the seller seems to think it's for a "BS50*EJR*50cc2 cylinder" All I know is that I don't know enough about those racers to know what carbs they used.  ;D
Title: Re: Bridgestone Hats, Patches & Other Stuff
Post by: BRT-GTR on January 31, 2018, 05:39:16 PM
I also wondered why BS would use an Amal carb.  Googled the carb numbers without sucess but then found this :-
             http://www.britbike.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=516951 (http://www.britbike.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=516951)

Seems there was a long standing link between Amal and Mikuni. The number '392' translates as Mi-Ku-Ni in certain Japanese scripts. The above forum thread explains it.................... We live and learn :D

So it is feasible the carb was used on a BS 50 racer but I would need further evidence before buying.
Note also the two scribed/centre punched lines across the carb body. One is marked 'NJ'- Needle Jet level ? other one marked 'OL' ?    May have been used to set the remote float level ?               Brian

nice read Brian
this just leaves me with questions though
is the 50cc race bike a non rotary disc vale?
what year is the race bike and why wouldn't they use a carb like the SR
the monoblock carb would have been on its way out in the mid-late sixty's and replaced by the concentric  type maybe the monoblock is less prone to distortion of the throttle body ?

I think  at least two versions. I think the early  water cooled twin fifty was said to have remote float carbs, . Also carbs may have been changed after these machines left Bridgestone and went home with their new owners/caretakers. Carbs may have been changed in an effort to improve ride ability. Also I think more than one gas tank size was used.

See also Graham Week's history article for info on EJR-1 & 2. Unable to establish details of the  EJR-3, so far, but all were 50cc, watercooled, disc-valve twins and all produced in just a short period 64-66 at which point BS closed their race shop. Grand prix racing proved to be too expensive to pursue.

Here's a close up of the EJR-2 engine showing the remote float carb. I'll leave you to decide whether the carb is the same as the one on Ebay.   Float chamber looks like it may be mounted on a bracket from the cylinder head, surely not the best arrangement but I think I can see a short length of rubber tube above the float chamber to effect some isolation from vibration.

               Paul,
I noticed, Steve Murray suggests that he may have been responsible for BS adopting a 14 speed box after he commented the bike was short of 4 gears while testing the 10 speed machine at Oulton Park. 500rpm powerband !!

Did anyone click on the 'TD1 carb' link in the post I put up above, brings you here :-   https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/yamahatwostroketwins/td1-pics-t13.html (https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/yamahatwostroketwins/td1-pics-t13.html)
See the photo of the 63 Tohatsu in post No. 9. Note the 'hightech' coil & float chamber mounts !!.  BS recruited many of Tohatsu's  engineers when they went out of business in 64. BS would have added disc valve induction, it was 'their thing'. They had previous experience and discs were seen by many as the future of 2S dvelopment at that time. Water cooling also became essential as revs and power outputs rose but even with this BS were struggling with high piston temperatures. Again, see ' prug chop' comments in Steve Murrays article.
A brief picture of BS's short racing venture is starting to develop,         Brian

Mick Walker wrote in his book Classic Japanes Racing Motorcycles copy write 1991'that, after Tohatsu went bankrupt almost all the engineers formally employed by Tohatsu moved to BS Motor Company. Tohatsu went bankrupt in February 1964. But there are many differences between  Tohatsu and BS E JR. First  the BS  was water cooled , the Tohatsu air cooled The BS has rotary valve versus the piston port system on the Tohatsu. The BS has a 10 or possibly a 14 ratio transmission. The Tohatsu has a 6 ratio transmission. The dry clutch on the BS can be seen on the right  side of the engine. The Tohatsu clutch can be seen on the left side of  engine.  I point out these differences to show that, in my opinion these two engines are not close relatives.

Yep, it's listed on Yahoo Japan, but it would end up costing you somewhere between $50 - $60 after you add up the auction price, the middleman fees and the shipping from the seller to the middleman and then from the middleman to the States.

Does the 'BS' on these stand for Bridgestone as we know it. Seems a strange item for them to make. They look like an aftermarket version, should be a wire coming out of them, no room for dry cells. Is that a switch on the side or an attachment bolt. An unusual item.
All UK vehicles had similar signals up to approx 1960, we called them 'trafficators', used to jam up on a regular basis. A good bash with a fist on the door pillar usually made them pop out !!!
Good to see you back keeping us entertained when the site is quiet.

I'm starting the think that it may not be Bridgestone after all, unless it's super early or something else.

I found this time line info from an official BS Corp. website and this "logo" isn't listed on it.

Maybe the seller saw BS and just assumed it was for Bridgestone.  Maybe it stands for.... Bat Signal!  banana

     Also did a little research.
Items advertised as 'Apollo turn signal' although not sure where seller found that. Apollo, God of Light and sun amongst many other things, so that fits. You can still find apollo turn signals made by Manfred Mothes, Germany, name may be just coincidence but ones advertised are well (over?) engineered and reasonable quality, so could be German.
Two screws on upper rear for fixing to vehicle, also a cable lead out formed at bottom rear with what may be a cable clamp. Note red plastic moulding under cable lead out, possibly an insulator ? or a telltail to show indicator light was working.
On cars these trafficators were electro magnetic operated to lift arm when switched, arm dropped under its own weight. These seem to be spring loaded up but cant see how this is electricaly triggered. Ad write up translation says, 'Wire up, lowering make sami'. So I think they had to be  manually retracted. Sami can can be interpreted as formal friend. I think writer is saying, get your posh mate to pull arm down. I'm open to any other suggestions  :D

Still a very interesting item, maybe pre war? but at $285 I won't be buying them.

I think you may be right Paul and that's what this record is. I remember that video as well.

So it's a home market commercial? Maybe their market power in Japan is what led the other manufacturers to pressure them out of the motorcycle business. Maybe the other manufacturers thought that four stroke technology from the Prince Motors side of the Bridgestone family would migrate to the motorcycles.

Im Rich!..... haha  banana

Back on page 15, I posted about a BS "lapel pin" that I saw on Yahoo Japan in 2018. Well, I went ahead and bought that pin and just now saw this eBay listing for the same pin.... (only in a fancier box.) I think the seller may be a bit optimistic.  ;D

Here's the link to the eBay listing and below is a pic of the pin I bought.....

Very nice item but not at that price.

Mike, Have you been able to establish why these pins were produced, obviously genuine due to BS keystone logo on your box. Does yours carry the K18 number ?
Were they awarded to dealers for high sales ? Was there a Chapter of the Tokyo 'Hells Angels'' marauding round on Sport 90s ? Be interested in your thoughts.

Sorry Brian, I don't know the backstory on these. The seller makes this statement, which kinda piques my interest, but I have now idea what it means?????

"This is the membership card of BS (Bridgestone)."

I never really paid attention to the back of my pin although I did remember it was stamped with Japanese characters. Since you were curious about the k18 I went and dragged it out and took a pic of the back. (below)

Oh well, about those riches of mine...... easy come, easy go! Not only is it missing the K18, but the characters are different and on the wrong side. (must be why mine cost nowhere near the $3k the seller is asking!  ;D ) Mine does appear to have been gold plated at one time, but most of it has rubbed off over time. There is still a bit left on the front of the pin.

Yes , Sorry I might not have been clear. I have seen pictures of restored bikes that had this patch as a sticker on the side panels of the bike itself. I was looking to see where you can get those ? Thanks for the help

No need to be sorry, now that re-read your post, you were very clear.... I just misread it.  :-\

The stickers/decals show up occasionally on ebay. Another option is to check with a local print shop and see if they could make you some.

Scott, are referring to these stickers/decals? I believe there were ads in the motorcycle mags in the day where you would send in and become a member of the Bridgestone racing team. They would send you some info and a sticker for your bike. Can anyone confirm this?

I was talking about the up right lion. Like the one on the tile page of the sight. I have seen several bikes with stickers of this on their side covers. Have not seen that offered.

Scott, I know which one you're talking about and I have one, but it's probably too big for your side cover!  ;D

Hi,

I believe this is what your looking for. They are 90 mm tall. I had them reproduced a long time ago now and have found some. I use to add one to anyone that bought parts from me back then. If you send me your postal address I'll post some over to you. I am in Ireland for my sins so may take a while to get to you.

Stay safe everyone .... ray

Hi Scott,

Will drop some in the post in the coming days.

About 5 years ago now I downsized life / storage, so teamed up with Richard to jointly sell what I had left. I still support Richard on anything that needs reproducing for the BS brand.

Yours ... ray
